What we do

Practical Support That Creates Lasting Change

We currently serve orphaned and vulnerable children in disadvantaged communities, where many face extreme poverty and limited access to essential services.

Food & Nutrition

Ensuring children receive regular, nutritious meals so they can grow strong and focus on learning. No child should go to bed hungry.

Education Support

Providing school fees, uniforms, and learning materials so that every child has an equal opportunity to gain an education.

Healthcare Access

Connecting children with medical care, health screenings, and essential treatments that would otherwise be out of reach.

Safe Shelter

Supporting families and caregivers to provide stable, safe living environments for vulnerable children in their care.

Community Empowerment

We partner with local families, community leaders, social services, and schools to identify those in greatest need and deliver support that is culturally appropriate and effective.

Long-Term Opportunity

Going beyond immediate relief to provide pathways for children to build confidence, skills, and hope for their futures.

Every Child Deserves to Be Fed

Hunger is one of the biggest barriers to a child’s development. Through regular food support, we ensure children can focus on growing and learning rather than surviving.

Education Is the Path Forward

We cover school fees, uniforms, and supplies for children who would otherwise be excluded from education. Learning opens doors that poverty tries to close.

Rooted in Community

Our work is only possible because of the families and community leaders who walk alongside us. We do not work for communities — we work with them. We support women and caregivers by providing practical tools, seeds, and resources to grow their own produce. This not only helps families meet their daily needs but also enables them to generate surplus for income, strengthening household stability and independence.

Our Approach

Community-First Model

We partner with local families and community leaders to identify those in greatest need and deliver support that is culturally appropriate and effective.

Personal & Relational

Every child we support is known by name. We build real relationships — not just case numbers — ensuring that support is personal and consistent.

Sustainable Impact

We address root causes of vulnerability, not just symptoms. Our programmes are designed to create lasting change that extends beyond our direct involvement.

Transparent & Accountable

As a UK-registered charity, we are committed to transparency in how funds are used, ensuring that every donation reaches the children who need it.

Where We Work

Our Reach
We currently support vulnerable children in the Matabeleland province of Zimbabwe, a region where many communities remain underserved and overlooked. Despite significant need, support from organisations has been limited, leaving many children without access to basic opportunities. While some programmes focus only on the highest-performing academic students, we believe that every child deserves a chance, regardless of their starting point. Sakhelene Sisonke is committed to bridging this gap by reaching those who are often left behind and providing inclusive support.

From Survival to Hope — Eunice Ncube

Story / Case Study

Eunice is a vulnerable child whose mother migrated to a neighbouring country in search of work, leaving her in the care of her elderly grandmother, who struggled to provide basic needs and could not afford school fees. Sakhelene Sisonke intervened by paying her school fees and providing ongoing support and monitoring. With consistent guidance and encouragement, her confidence and school performance have improved significantly, and she is now making good progress.

The Pilot

Story / Case Study

This young woman was supported by Sakhelene Sisonke in 1998 when she was just 7 years old, living in a rural village with her 9-year-old brother after losing both parents. Through our support, she was able to attend school, worked hard, and excelled in her studies despite the challenges she faced. Today, she has gone on to become a qualified pilot — a powerful testimony of how consistent support, education, and opportunity can transform a child's life.
